Secretary of Defense Ash Carter announced today that the president has made the following nomination: Marine Corps Col. Daniel B. Conley has been nominated for appointment to the rank of brigadier general. Conley is currently serving as the assistant chief of staff, G-4 Logistics, Marine Corps Forces Central Command, Tampa, Florida.

Air Force Announces New AFMC Executive Director

AIR FORCE MATERIEL COMMAND PUBLIC AFFAIRS (MARCH 3, 2016)

WRIGHT-PATTERSON AIR FORCE BASE, Ohio—Air Force officials announced March 3, 2016, the assignment of Patricia M. Young as the executive director of Air Force Materiel Command. She is currently the director, Washington Headquarters Services, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Pentagon, Washington, D.C. The command’s current executive director, Michael Gill, will retire effective April 1 after 34 years of service.

Flag Officer Assignment

DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE NEWS RELEASE, PRESS OPERATIONS (MARCH 8, 2016)

The Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Chief of Naval Operations Adm. John M. Richardson announced today the following assignment: Rear Adm. (lower half) John P. Neagley, selected for promotion to rear admiral, will be assigned as program executive officer for Littoral Combat Ships, Washington, District of Columbia. Neagley is currently serving as deputy commander, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command, San Diego, California.
